Mameha ( मामेहा ) in Sanskrit means “Of me, here”. In Japanese ( マメハ ) it is a first name which can be taken by Women. This name was made famous by a character in the book “Memoirs of a Geisha”.

Our aim is to popularize Japanese food in India, hence Mameha, a little part of Japan here in India.

Rice is Japan's most important crop, and has been cultivated across the country for over 2000 years. It is the primary staple food of the Japanese diet as well as the primary ingredient in making Sake, the popular Japanese alcoholic beverage.

Rice is of such importance to the Japanese culture that it was once used as currency called the Koku. Koku was originally defined as a quantity of rice enough rice to feed one person for one year

The word for cooked rice in Japanese is Gohan which has become synonymous with the  meaning of the English phrase, "A full Meal". Our first product is  thus, Japanese Rice.
